just called the cops on some kids

spotted them nicking a bike from the flat at the end of my street... wich they immediately threw off the bridge behind the flat once they noticed me shouting at them...

i dont like calling the cops... but i sure as fuck aint gonna chase a bunch of teens around the park and dont feel like going for a good samaritan swim to rescue a bike... so it was cops or nothing

Calling the cops on kids stealing someone else's property is way different from calling the cops because you're too afraid to walk to the mailbox with all those teen-agers hanging out in the neighbor's driveway.

If being old and grumpy means caring about what happens to my neighbors, then sign me up.  You did good.  Even in the days when you might have been able to take them on, it’s usually better to do it by the book than to go after them yourself.

getting into a fight with minors is a real good way to get yourself arrested..even when its self defense...

not that that would have happened..these ones were the laugh and run type

Often it ends up helping the kids.  If the cops appear at their door, they get a scare and face the wrath of their parents, who can do much more to them than you ever could.

Box checked. Stood in the middle of the street while some kid in a civic took off from the stop sign (he always does) . I be littled him and his car in front of his friends. Told him I’d knock his fuckin’ teenage teeth in if he kept it up.

His father came down moments later nearly as unreasonable as his kid. I told him to call the police or go fuck himself, or both.

My wife was displeased with how I handled the situation.

yep... im reasonably sure the plan was never more than take bike..chuck off bridge..coz haha fun times

i could hear the wheel banging against the lock as they dragged the bike so they didnt bother trying to break the lock.. just nabbed a bike that wasnt locked to anything

Yeah, I’m sure hes a spoiled fuck still, but as long as hes not near my kid I don’t care. It’s a 25 mph closed community and there are mainly two types of owners, y oung families and old peeps.

It’s all natural progression though. I was a shithead for period of time when I was a kid too .  T hen the older version of me told me what time it was, and I grew up a few notches albeit embarrassing at the time.
